To manually update the product, you will need an unzipping program (like Winzip from www.winzip.com) to extract the update files. Instructions found below.

1. Download the dat-4xxx.zip file from http://www.nai.com/us/downloads/updates/dat.asp
2. Disable ActiveShield. (Right click on the McAfee icon by the click, point to VirusScan and click on Disable)
3. Unzip the following files to the folder C:\Program Files\McAfee.com\VSO ((More information on unzipping files).
   • CLEAN.DAT
   • NAMES.DAT
   • SCAN.DAT
4. Enable ActiveShield.

VirusScan will now be updated.
